Has anyone else listened to this track (apart from you Bob cos you don't count!). I have a CD called "selections from HFTH" and it has it on. Very good track. I may be able to burn it and start giving it to people on the board hopefully (i dont see why not). every copy will come with a complimentary cup of tea....

but my college internet blocks all file downloading and sharing. Some things I can get around with download managers... if it was a secure protocol I could get it... But since I'm just one misfiring brain cell, it's not as if my dilemma will be taken into account.

I have sent those who have been involved in this thread a copy of the song to their personal e-mails. I cant seem to get around the silly board rules about large files and have given up trying to post it directly on here. If anyone else would like to hear it, please reply to this thread and I will send it out again every couple of days to new people, but only for about 2-3 weeks. After that enough people should have it to circulate amongst themselves. I'm prettly sure the band will release it (maybe as a b-side) in any case. If they dont then hey, we all get a bonus...

Anyway, hope everyone understands this, and you all enjoy another class stellastarr* song.

Yeah, it refuses to play on my computer without the cd being inserted.

thanks for the email, but it wont play on my computer either... have you tried importing the cd using itunes(or any other programs) while holding down shift when inserting the cd?

There are a few ways around this, I have a programme that records the output of the soundcard as an mp3, so as long as you can get the CD to play, you can record the sound, regardless of the copy protection. Which is how i got my mp3s of Stay Entertained and Bloated Wife from the copy-protected CD. Combined with marginally less legal mp3s from the leaked version of the album - hurrah.
Have you tried ripping the original CD, burning the copy-protected mp3/wma onto a new CD, then copying that? There'd be a fair deterioration in sound quality, but better than nothing.

You could try to put a small piece of tape over the data track on the CD. This will prevent your computer from reading the copy protection and it will play as a regular CD. I'll see if I can find out how to get rid of protection on existing content from my hubby.

No it doesn't. You can only listen to it if you use Internet Explorer and only for a limited time. I don't even know if you can burn it to disc for unlimited listens, because I don't use IE. :(

But I don't know it. I can find out if you like. It's a way that lets you record it if it's going through your computer speakers. I hang out with computer nerds and my fiance is a tech-to-be, so I can try and find out what it is you have to do. You use a mac, right?
