I was at the Reading Fez on Sunday for the first night of the current tour, and was impressed with the job the band did, in what has to be one of the most God-awful gig venues I have ever watched a band in. The new stuff came across really well, particularly 'Love & Longing'. The shite PA system and the fact that most of the crowd didn't know a lot of the material were formidable obstacles, and they overcame both of them effortlessly.
I've had HFTH on US import since October last year, and it was good to finally see/hear in the flesh the increased authority with which the band are playing and Shawn is singing. Only about 5 people buy the NME these days anyway, so sod what they say! See you at King's College on the 7th!!!
